Kentucky Craft Bash is the Commonwealth's largest craft beer festival featuring solely Kentucky breweries. Organized by the Kentucky Guild of Brewers, this annual event serves as the nonprofit organization's primary fundraiser, supporting advocacy and industry advancement efforts for Kentucky's craft brewing community. The festival takes place on the scenic Brown-Forman Lawn at Waterfront Park along the Ohio River in downtown Louisville.
Founded in 2018, the festival has grown to showcase 50+ local breweries pouring 175+ craft beers. The 2025 edition marks the 8th annual Kentucky Craft Bash, presented by Vid Monster. The 2026 festival is confirmed for Saturday, June 27, running from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. VIP admission begins at noon, offering early access and premium perks.
Ticket pricing follows a tiered structure with Super Early Bird, Early Bird, and Regular pricing. VIP tickets range from $55 to $65 depending on purchase timing and include a special 12.5-oz tasting glass, a swag bag, and early entry. General Admission tickets range from $50 to $55 and include a 5-oz stainless tasting cup. VIP tickets are limited to 500. Proceeds support the Kentucky Guild of Brewers and its mission to advance the state's craft beer industry.
In a state synonymous with bourbon, craft beer had to fight for its place at the table. Kentucky endured a fifteen-year brewing drought between Falls City Brewing shutting its doors in 1978 and the first new breweries opening in 1993. Growth was painfully slow for nearly two more decades -- only four additional breweries launched between 1993 and 2011. Then the dam broke. The Kentucky Guild of Brewers, formed by nine founding members to give the Commonwealth's small brewers a unified voice for advocacy and promotion, helped shepherd an era of explosive growth. By 2018, Kentucky's craft beer production had grown 43 percent over three years, tying with New Jersey for the fastest growth rate in the nation. Today the state is home to roughly 88 breweries employing more than 4,500 Kentuckians and contributing over $700 million in economic impact.
Kentucky Craft Bash launched in 2018 as the Guild's flagship public event and largest annual fundraiser. Held on the Brown-Forman Lawn at Louisville's Waterfront Park along the Ohio River, the festival is deliberately exclusive to Kentucky breweries -- no out-of-state guests, no corporate sponsors stealing the spotlight. The idea is to transform the riverfront into the Commonwealth's largest taproom for one evening, with 50-plus breweries pouring 175-plus beers under open skies. VIP tickets are capped at 500, keeping the experience intimate for those willing to pay a premium for early access and swag.
What makes Kentucky Craft Bash different from the dozens of beer festivals that dot the summer calendar is its singular focus on state identity. In bourbon country, proving that Kentucky can brew world-class beer is still a statement worth making. Every dollar raised goes directly to the Guild's nonprofit mission of advocacy and industry advancement, funding the legislative work and promotional campaigns that keep small brewers competitive. For Louisville, a city that already draws visitors for Derby, bourbon, and barbecue, Craft Bash adds one more reason to raise a glass along the Ohio.
