The Livermore Valley Craft Beer Fest is an annual outdoor beer festival held on the athletic field at Las Positas College in Livermore, California. Now in its 10th year in 2026, the event brings together over 40 of the best Northern California craft breweries alongside local food vendors, four live bands, games, and shaded areas. The festival runs from 1 PM to 5 PM on a single Saturday each May.
General admission tickets are $55 in advance ($60 day of event) and include unlimited craft beer samples. VIP tickets at $80 provide entry an hour early with exclusive VIP live music and other perks. Designated driver tickets are available for $25. The event also features demonstrations by Las Positas College firefighting students, as the festival directly benefits the college's Fire Service Technology program.
The Livermore Valley Craft Beer Fest has become one of the Tri-Valley's signature spring events, celebrating the region's growing craft beer scene while supporting local education.
The Livermore Valley Craft Beer Fest was born out of the Livermore Valley Craft Beer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by a group of locals who love craft beer and their community. What started as a modest gathering of beer enthusiasts and local brewers in 2017 has grown into the Tri-Valley's premier craft beer event, now celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026.
The festival's home on the athletic field at Las Positas College is more than just a convenient venue — it's directly tied to the event's charitable mission. All proceeds benefit the college's Fire Service Technology program, where students train to become firefighters. Festival-goers can watch live demonstrations by these aspiring firefighters between sampling sessions, creating a unique blend of community service and craft beer celebration.
Over the years, the Livermore Valley Craft Beer Fest has tapped into the region's identity as an up-and-coming craft beer destination. The Tri-Valley area, better known for its wineries and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, has seen a surge of craft breweries in recent years. The festival showcases this growth while pulling in acclaimed breweries from across Northern California, giving attendees a snapshot of the state's diverse brewing landscape.
