The Macon Beer Fest is one of Georgia's top craft beer and wine festivals, held annually in Historic Downtown Macon at Third Street and Poplar Street. Now celebrating its fifteenth year in 2025, the festival is organized by the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon and has grown into a premier event that blends craft beer culture with a powerful health awareness mission — the festival is an official Pints for Prostates event, providing free prostate cancer screenings on-site. General Admission tickets are $40 and VIP tickets are $85, both including unlimited pours from over 100 varieties of craft beer and wine. The event also features food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and live music.
The Macon Beer Fest was born in 2010 from one man's deeply personal mission. Steve Bell, a member of the Rotary Club of Downtown Macon, was diagnosed with prostate cancer at just 42 years old — an experience that transformed his outlook and drove him to find a creative way to raise awareness about the disease. His idea was simple but brilliant: combine the universal appeal of a craft beer festival with life-saving health screenings.
From its first year in Historic Downtown Macon, the festival embraced the Pints for Prostates campaign, offering free $700 blood tests for men attending the event. The festival eventually broke the national record for testing the most men at a single Pints for Prostates event, earning recognition far beyond Macon's city limits. Over fifteen years, the Macon Beer Fest has evolved from a local fundraiser into one of Georgia's premier craft beer events, channeling proceeds into prostate cancer education, downtown Macon development, local community grants, and global Rotary initiatives.
