Burp Fest at Massachusetts Brewers Fest / Fruhlingsfest 2027

The Massachusetts Brewers Guild was formed in 2007 when the state's craft brewers came together to promote and protect their growing industry. For years, the Guild's flagship public event was the Massachusetts Craft Brewers Festival, an annual spring gathering that brought 40-plus Bay State breweries under one roof at the Boston Center for the Arts Cyclorama. The Cyclorama -- a stunning circular building originally constructed in 1884 to house a massive panoramic painting of the Battle of Gettysburg -- proved to be the perfect venue: historic, architecturally dramatic, and intimate enough to foster genuine connections between brewers and drinkers.

For 2026, the Guild reimagined the event as the Massachusetts Craft Brewers Fruhlingsfest, drawing inspiration from Germany's Fruhlingsfest tradition. Where Oktoberfest celebrates the fall harvest, Fruhlingsfest marks the arrival of spring with lighter, more seasonal fare and a festive atmosphere that skews toward celebration rather than ceremony. The new branding brings German-inspired food vendors, themed decor, and a springtime energy to the Cyclorama while maintaining the core mission: showcasing the breadth and quality of Massachusetts craft brewing.

Massachusetts has quietly become one of the most dynamic craft beer states in the Northeast. Names like Tree House, Trillium, Night Shift, and Aeronaut have earned national reputations, and the state is home to well over 200 licensed breweries. The Fruhlingsfest provides a rare opportunity to sample dozens of these producers in a single afternoon or evening, with every dollar supporting the Guild's nonprofit mission.
