The CNY BrewFest is the longest-running brewfest in Central New York, returning for its 29th year at the Horticulture Building at the NYS Fairgrounds on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The festival offers unlimited samples of 150+ pours including craft beer, hard ciders, canned cocktails, seltzers, and mocktails. Two sessions are available: Session 1 from 1 PM to 4 PM and Session 2 from 6 PM to 9 PM, with attendance limited to 1,200 per session.
Each session features live music, cornhole with CNY Cornhole, and video games with Retro Game Con. An early bird option is available for Session 1, allowing entry at noon for an extra hour of tasting.
The CNY BrewFest has been a Central New York institution since 1998, making it the longest-running brewfest in the region. Organized by Galaxy Events Company — which was created in 2002 to provide opportunities for Central New Yorkers to maximize life in their area — the festival has grown from a modest beer sampling event into a multi-session celebration that connects over 50,000 beer-loving people in its community.
The Horticulture Building at the NYS Fairgrounds provides a spacious and weatherproof venue for the late-January event, when Syracuse temperatures make outdoor festivals impractical. The building transforms into a craft beverage wonderland with 150+ pours spanning craft beer, hard ciders, canned cocktails, seltzers, and even mocktails for those seeking non-alcoholic options.
Each session is capped at 1,200 attendees, ensuring a quality experience without overcrowding. Live music, CNY Cornhole, and Retro Game Con video games round out the entertainment. The early bird option for Session 1 gives dedicated beer enthusiasts an extra hour starting at noon — a coveted upgrade for those who want first pick of the limited and specialty pours.
